Great ambience and all the food was delicious. We had a party of around 10 and they were able to accommodate us. Will be back! They're also the same company as Honda-ya in Tustin!!

Kappo Honda is a very traditional Japanese restaurant that has been a staple of Fountain Valley for as long as I've been living here. It always has such a vibrant atmosphere as people come for the drinks, skewers, food, and company. I have always loved their dishes, and the quality of the food has remained relatively stable throughout the years! I personally love their Nebiyaki Udon and Oden, as well as their Chicken Skin skewers. Make sure to come early to check in on their Yelp waitlist as this place always has a bit of a wait, but I will say that it is always worth the wait.

The overall ambience and good was great. I had no complaints whatsoever about the food. I think the service was a little bit iffy when I would order food the server seemed a little bit unfriendly and wasn't really attentive to our table. It would be nice to have a friendly service if I've waited 45 min to get a table. Overall they have good food but not the greatest service.

Their dinners are absolutely delicious every time we go. We have ordered a variety of dinner selection from sashimi to teriyaki dinners and we hope to try everything in their menu! Get there at 5 p.m. when they open or you'll have a wait. They are in demand. The servers are attentive, friendly and quick to serve you. Their restaurant is pleasantly decorated. It's very crowded and tables are set very close to others. It is clean. The servers are happy so the atmosphere is the same.

Besides the wait this place is great. The food has never been bad and while the price is a little high I feel it's pretty worth it. The service is good although the tables and menus here are always a little sticky lol. Besides that though a great place and solid vibes.

Everything we tried was solid!! The udon was very flavorful, even a little bit on the salty side for me. Dinner here was a good time with great service and chill ambiance. The wait was about 25-30 minutes at 6ish on a Friday night - I assume it gets busier as the night goes on. I'll be back for sure!

I've been coming to this restaurant that doesn't even have any new or used Honda vehicles to sell. Would be nice to buy a nice little Honda for myself with my meal though. LOL, I'm kidding. After the third visit at Kappa Honda in Fountain Valley (Orange County). I decided it's worth going to every month or week. When I get to the seat, I got the menus and a sheet of paper menu for the skewers which I call it appetizer. As long I get my meatball skewers, I'm a happy person. Other good skewers option are leg meat, Japanese beef, pork belly, and many more. Now for the good stuff, I like getting those Alaskan rolls, especially with some salmon roes on top really made it real presentable. Last night, I've ordered the Fountain Valley rolls which they only offered on Wednesday. It's 6 different tastes in one roll. Comes with salmon, albacore, avocado top of spicy tuna roll, & rainbow, ell, baked scallop on top of California roll. Sounds so good right? LOL. It is indeed. Service is great as always. Wait time can be long, especially on the weekend. Just be aware of that. Overall.... will be back again soon. 5 stars.

I wanted to update my review since it has been years now. I still find myself coming here from time to time. Kappo Honda has slightly changed throughout the years but is still a local favorite. They still offer great yakitori and Japanese foods. Some items however, can be a miss. I am not a fan that you have to pay for their sauce, which is pretty cheap, but when I go to ask the waitress what dip goes with what item she didn't know. I also miss their sea urchin dumplings they use to do. Those were my favorite. Kappo Honda still has a very wide variety of items on their menu. And they even have specials and seasonal items as well. The last time I came here was for dinner. We came during opening hours and there was already a wait. You cannot make reservations and will need to sign in. I came with one other person and we ordered a lot. We enjoy the yakitori and mushrooms. We got their Ikamaru grill squid which was my least favorite since it tasted dry. But overall we enjoyed most of the items and love the wide variety. The staff is always so nice and the foods come fast. I love the inside how it feels traditional and booths with walls give you more privacy. Pricing is also pretty good for what it is. We will continue coming backing.

Been here several times and never disappointed . Kappo Honda is one of my favorite authentic Japanese restaurants and sushi bars. They have an extensive menu that, honestly, can be a little overwhelming but in a good way. Everything was tasty. Their beef udon noodles was great to contrast the savory yakitoris. The food and service are both excellent.
